FAQs

Q With the exception of our inaugural event to be held from 17th to 21st March at Santa Clara Golf in Granada, Spain ,why has the original planned 2019 schedule been postponed until 2020.

A Because of the uncertainty of the result of Brexit, Members have been reluctant to book to play in events , so to avoid inconveniencing Camp Sites and Golf Clubs by cancelling events at late notice we decided to delay the start of our playing season to January 2020 by which time the situation regarding travel in Europe will holepfully be clearer.

Q Do I need a handicap to play on the tour.
A Yes, we will need proof of an acceptable handicap when entering our scheduled tour events, BUT we understand that many potential members will not be members of a golf club, and so we have become associated with Golfshake, who provide an excellent on-line service to provide a handicap, which we will accept for all our events. Just submit three completed score cards played on any 18 hole golf course, signed by your playing partner. See www.golfshake.com for all details. If you are a member of a golf club anywhere in Europe and have a handicap certificate, this will of course be accepted by us when entering tour events

Q How many events will be held each year.
A In the first year, 2020, a total of 12 events are scheduled, each of 5 days duration with 3 rounds of golf included, one practice round and 36 holes tournament play. All Stableford with full handicap allowance.

Q How do I qualify for the tour final to be held in January 2021 in Spain.
A All 12 qualifying events will count towards the Order of Merit. Points will be gained depending on performance. By the end of November 2020, the top 40 Members, either ladies or men, will qualify for the final. A minimum of 3 events must be played during the year to be eligible for the final. Details of how the Order of Merit points system works can be found on the Order of Merit page.

Q Do I have to take my motorhome or caravan to events and/or the final.
A No, we have chosen campsites near to the golf venues which also have self catering accommodation available for those who prefer to fly in and out of the venue area, or if you live close enough to the venue, you can travel daily to play golf.

Q Will transport from the campsite to the golf club be provided for motorhome owners.
A Yes, this is included in the event entry fee for those who need it.

Q How much does it cost to become a Member of the Motorhome and Caravan Euro Golf Tour for one year.
A  £48 which covers Golfer and Partner travelling together.  If BOTH play golf and wish to enter the competitions the entry fee for the event will be adjusted to cover the extra player.
